Hey everyone! So, today I spotted a weird issue. The laptop's Wi-Fi adapter started acting weird. It randomly turns on and off, like one moment it's there, and the other it's not (see the screenshot). When I go to Settings, it's not even there, saying the computer lacks the necessary equipment. I tried turning the adapter off and then back on manually through Device Manager, and it seemingly helped, but a minute or two later, it shut off again. Naturally, I reset the system several times, especially after any changes I applied, but nothing happened.
I tried updating the driver, but all in vain. Since it's impossible to use the internet normally on the device, to update the driver, I used Snappy Driver Installer, an offline driver pack. Before resorting to it, however, I tried James' driver pack he created manually (I saved it on my drive earlier, just in case), but Windows didn't accept it, saying my current driver was up to date. So now I suspect it's a kind of hardware trouble. What do you people think? Has anyone run into anything similar?
P.S.: some time ago, I had a similar issue with my regular laptop, but there I could at least connect to networks I needed through Control Panel, which indicates it was a software problem. Later, I put in a new SSD and, subsequently, installed a fresh copy of Windows, so the problem, so to say, fixed itself. Now, I can't even do that. What's even more frustrating is that in a couple of days I'm going to travel and will need the tiny fella, as my regular laptop simply won't go in my bag stuffed with other things I need.
I know this was a month ago, but sounds like a oose wifi module. It may be worth opening the case and making sure everything is firmly connected. Now what are these rediculous screws on the bottom??
Two weeks later... I just turned on the laptop to play a little with it, and it's all working as it should. I don't know what happened but suspect the problem was caused by the heat, which was pretty intense in those days (over 30 degrees centigrade). The laptop was lying on the piece of my desk where sunlight reached, so it probably heated it up or something. This is my best guess, though, of course, I'm not sure, and it could be anything.
UPD. I connected my phone as a USB modem to get the latest Windows updates, and interestingly enough, the laptop's embedded Wi-Fi adapter doesn't seem to be falling off while the phone's attached as a fake Ethernet port. The system also found driver updates for a "modem" (see the screenshot). Currently waiting for it all to install and see what happens next
